Yes! MaroonTix partners with Stripe, a trusted payment processor that is used by companies worldwide such as Amazon. Our ticket transfer system has been tested by Virginia Tech Athletics and is completely through their portal, ensuring safety for all users.

Yes, ticket scams are a problem at Virginia Tech. Many students have been scammed by fake tickets on Snapchat, Instagram, and other platforms. MaroonTix was built to eliminate these scams and provide a safe marketplace for students to buy and sell tickets

MaroonTix was founded by four students at Virginia Tech who built MaroonTix so that Virginia Tech students can safely and quickly find tickets to go to their favorite athletic events. Only Virginia Tech students can make a MaroonTix account. Students can only sign up using their @vt.edu email address, and this email is verified when a user creates an account.

As Virginia Tech students, we aim to protect our student body and promote school spirit in the student section. Restricting access to only VT students enables us to create a secure community for student ticket transactions to take place.

To Make a MaroonTix account navigate to the “Sign Up” page. After registering your email, you will be emailed a link to verify you are a VT student. Once you have clicked the link, you have successfully registered!

Generally, anyone accompanied by a student of the school can also sit in the student section.

No, only Virginia Tech games in Blacksburg can be transacted on MaroonTix.

First register an account with MaroonTix using your @vt.edu email address. Navigate to Ticket Listings through the “Games” button, select a specific game, and then click “Sell Your Ticket.” Fill in your ticket information and your desired listing price. You will be redirected to Stripe, at which point follow the instructions to create an account and fill in your payout method. Make sure to select “individual” account type when making your account.

MaroonTix provides sellers with a safe marketplace where they quickly sell to their ticket to another VT Student. MaroonTix eliminates haggling, long wait times, and scams for VT student ticket sellers.

Stripe takes 3 - 5 business days to transfer the funds to your account.

Yes! You can cancel your listing at any time, and your ticket will be immediately sent back to you! To cancel your listing, Sign In and navigate to “My Tickets” then “My Active Listings”. Select the Red X Icon, you will be prompted with a confirmation. Select Yes and we will automatically send your ticket back!

First, register an account with MaroonTix using your @vt.edu email address. Navigate to Ticket Listings through the “Games” button, select a specific game, and then click purchase for a specific listing. Fill out your payment details, and within a few minutes of confirmation, you will receive the ticket in your inbox from Virginia Tech Athletics!

Within a few minutes of purchasing your ticket, you will receive an email from the Virginia Tech Athletics ticket portal notifying you that you have been transferred a ticket. Accept the transfer and you are all set!

MaroonTix provides buyers with a safe marketplace where they can quickly buy a verified ticket from another VT student. MaroonTix eliminates haggling, price gouging, long wait times, and scams for Virginia Tech students.

Once you click purchase, we put the ticket on hold for you for five minutes. While the ticket is in your “cart,” other users are restricted from buying that ticket. For this reason, if you do not buy the ticket within five minutes, the ticket will be removed from your “cart” and relisted, available to all students.
